We are delighted to be partnering with the Cheshire and Merseyside Women's Health and Maternity Programme - Improving Me once again this year to mark Baby Week UK. Building on the success of the live-streamed baby massage sessions delivered last year, we are back to share our expertise and the evidence around the benefits of baby massage for parents and babies.
The theme for this year’s Baby Week is Chat, Play, Read with Me: Together We Build the Best Start, which aims to shine a light on the simple, everyday interactions that help babies and young children learn, communicate and thrive. A baby’s first method of communication is through touch, which is one of the reasons baby massage is such a powerful tool for supporting early years development.
Once again, we will be hosting two FREE sessions:
Baby massage workshop for parents and caregivers
On 18 November, 10.00-10.45 GMT, there will be a FREE baby massage class providing an ideal introduction to the practicalities and benefits of baby massage. It is a useful session for new mums, carers or mums-to-be. No baby is required. Just some curiosity and an interest in learning more about the power of baby massage. However, if you have a baby, then you get some hands-on practice with an expert tutor online. Register here https://meet.zoho.eu/hveb-hhm-jni
Workforce development - An Introduction to Infant Massage for Healthcare Professional webinar
On November 18, there will be a second FREE online session aimed at healthcare professionals. This session, 19.30-20.00 GMT, will consist of a short talk on some of the benefits and tips for the healthcare professionals, students and volunteers working in maternity and early years settings. This is an ideal introduction for anyone who wants to understand more about the health and wellbeing benefits of baby massage for both parents and babies and how they can contribute to widening access to baby massage.
