World Maternal Mental Health Day - May 7th
Why does maternal mental health matter? As many as 1 in 5 women have a mental health problem during pregnancy and in the first year following birth in many countries, with over 75% of women not getting diagnosed or receiving the support they need. Not receiving adequate treatment can have lasting consequences for mothers, babies, their families and society as a whole.
Data published in 2024 showed that maternal death rates have increased, with mental health-related causes being one of the highest contributors. World Maternal Mental Health Day helps shine a light on these issues, combats social stigma, improves diagnoses and treatments and makes resources more readily available.
In support of this important day, we will be hosting a FREE webinar that looks at how infant massage can support maternal mental health, join us at 19.00 BST on May 7th https://meet.google.com/heb-izee-kjn
