Bee Happy Babies Shares the Benefits of Infant Massage with APCP Members

Bee Happy Babies was delighted to host a free webinar for the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP): “An Introduction to the Benefits of Infant Massage” last month.

This informative session explored the history, research and therapeutic value of infant massage, helping physiotherapists understand how gentle, nurturing touch can support babies’ physical and emotional development and parents.

A Warm Welcome and Wonderful Engagement

We were thrilled by the response — 100 paediatric physiotherapists joined the live session, with more watching the recording later.

Feedback showed that over 80% of participants achieved their learning outcomes, with attendees describing the session as “engaging,” “well-presented,” and “inspiring.”

💬 “A great presentation, evidence base well presented, engaging and clearly very passionate.”
💬 “Very clear, evidence-based introduction into the benefits of infant massage.”
💬 “Really interesting talk – definitely prompted some thoughts around using it in practice.”
💬 “I really enjoyed the webinar and felt inspired to pursue training in infant massage.”

Many delegates said the webinar gave them confidence to discuss infant massage with parents, and some even plan to introduce baby massage sessions in their local services or parent support programmes.

Why Infant Massage Matters

Infant massage is far more than a relaxing activity. Research shows that it can help:

  • Support digestion and relieve colic and wind

  • Improve sleep and relaxation

  • Strengthen parent–baby bonding

  • Support neurological and motor development

  • Reduce stress hormones in both baby and caregiver

When healthcare professionals understand and promote these benefits, they help families build stronger, healthier connections from the very beginning.

Accessible Learning for Busy Professionals

Delegates praised the online format for its accessibility and flexibility — with most saying they prefer webinars or a mix of online and face-to-face sessions. Several noted that being able to watch the recording later made it easier to fit into busy clinical and family schedules.

Looking Ahead

We were inspired by the curiosity and enthusiasm among APCP members, and will be delivering another webinar to the Paediatrics Clinical Interest Group of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists later this month.

At Bee Happy Babies, our mission is to empower professionals and parents with trusted, evidence-based knowledge that nurtures every baby’s potential. We’re deeply grateful to the APCP for inviting us to share our passion and expertise.
